The idea
The original idea is to create the first film in a mini-series with the theme "Swedish folklore tales". Genre: folk horror/drama.
The first film "Rånda" is a film that is inspired by legends, myths and stories about “Skogsrået” (the Female Forest Spirit and Ruler of the Forest).
The story takes place in Dalarna during the 17th century. It is a fictional story about the mysterious being, but it also contains elements of the social and religious situation in Sweden and Dalarna during the 17th century. The film will be historically accurate in terms of the environment, clothing, buildings and language to the extent possible.
The aim is to create a film that is both artistically appealing and exciting, but also to highlight Dalarna's traditions, culture and folklore.
